The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Delta Council conveys warm felicitations to Dr. Michael Nwoko on his birthday anniversary today, March 2, 2025.

Dr Nwoko, a distinguished public health expert, community/youth development advocate, and fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health, United Kingdom, has been a long standing friend of NUJ Delta and journalists in the state.

Nicknamed “The Political Oshobe” by friends and admirers, Dr Nwoko has over the years combined ambidextrously well, his medical profession with partisan politics and has excelled tremendously on both tasking fronts of human endeavour.

Born to the Royal Family of Idumuje-Ugboko kingdom, Aniocha North LGA of Delta State, Dr. Nwoko is a member of the Harvard Alumni Association and a member of the American Public Health Association; hilst effectively functioning as the Chief of staff to Distinguished Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko representing Delta North Senatorial District in the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

His expertise extends to grassroots mobilization and the advancement of the health sector. He has held various leadership positions, notably influencing health monitoring/evaluation and political campaigns. Dr Nwoko’s contributions have earned him multiple awards and affiliations with esteemed global health organisations.

Dr. Michael Nwoko was inducted as a fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health, United Kingdom on September 10, 2021 due to his Public Health roles in Delta State and Nigeria at large particular during the COVID-19 era where he worked tirelessly to ensure safety of the people in the wake of the deadly virus.
