In a significant step towards improving the quality of life and fostering development within the Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom, His Majesty, Obi Ifechukwude Aninshi Okonjo II, has handed over a brand new 500kVA transformer to members of the Ogbe Ofu community.

The new transformer, which replaces the community’s failing 300kVA unit, is expected to restore stable electricity to the area and ensure a reliable power supply for both residential and commercial needs.

At the handover ceremony, the palace administrator, Mrs. Gold Udenwa Anwuzia, reaffirmed the commitment of His Majesty to ensuring that all parts of the Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom have access to electricity.

His Majesty, a renowned developmental economist, highlighted the critical role of electricity in driving local productivity, boosting small businesses, and improving livelihoods.

He emphasized that without electricity, meaningful development remains elusive, and communities are unable to reach their full potential.

“Electricity is the backbone of any growing community,” Mrs. Anwuzia said on behalf of HRM Obi Ifechukwude, during the presentation.

“We are committed to ensuring that every corner of Ogwashi-Uku is fully powered. Development cannot thrive in darkness.

“When our people have access to electricity, they can be more productive, engage in business, and contribute to the overall prosperity of our kingdom.”

The replacement of the faulty transformer with a higher-capacity 500kVA unit is part of a broader strategy by the Obi to ensure that all areas of the kingdom are adequately equipped with essential infrastructure.

Under his reign, the Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom has made significant strides in improving local amenities, with a focus on power supply, security, and economic development.

Residents of Ogbe Ofu expressed their gratitude to His Majesty for the timely intervention. Many noted that the lack of stable electricity had hindered business activities and caused discomfort to families.

With the new transformer in place, the community is optimistic that power outages will become a thing of the past, and the area will begin to see renewed economic and social growth.

The Ogwashi-Uku monarch’s action is seen as part of a larger vision to empower all communities under his rule, ensuring that no area is left behind in the kingdom’s quest for progress and development.

As a forward-thinking leader with a deep understanding of the economic factors that drive growth, Obi Ifechukwude continues to champion initiatives that provide the people of Ogwashi-Uku with the tools they need to succeed. This will be the fourth community in Ogwashi-Uku to benefit from a transformer this year.

This latest development underscores the Obi’s dedication to his people’s well-being and prosperity, reinforcing his reputation as a monarch who prioritizes sustainable development and a bright future for the Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom.
