Custom comptroller identified as Anthony Ayalugo has died. Ayalugo was the Comptroller in charge of the Trade Facilitation Unit of the Nigeria Customer Service (NCS) before his demise on 17 October 2022.
According to LIB, the Custom Public Relations spokesperson, AA Maiwada confirmed the incident in a statement on Tuesday, 18 October.
Maiwada said that the 57-year-old Comptroller became unconcious while in transit on an official assignment and was rushed to the Nigerian Air Force hospital in Kano where he was confirmed dead.
The official statement by the Custom Public Relations spokesperson read, “It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Comptroller Anthony Ayalugo. Until his death, he was the Customs Comptroller in charge of the Trade Facilitation Unit of the Service. He was in transit on an official assignment when he suddenly took ill upon arrival on Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport and lost consciousness. All efforts to revive him proved unsuccessful as he was pronounced dead on Monday,17 October at Nigerian Air Force Hospital, Kano”.
Custom Comptroller Anthony Ayalugo hailed from Onitsha North Local Government Area of Anambra State. He is survived by a wife and children.
