A former governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, in a newly released video has reiterated his stand about the 2023 presidential election.
Fayose said his being in the Peoples Democratic Party does not stop him from supporting the candidacy of the All Progressives Congress leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in the upcoming general elections.
Fayose further said he can’t campaign against Tinubu and promised to give him all his support because it is time for the Yorubas to take up the mantle of leadership in Nigeria.
The truth is that Asiwaju’s enchanting profile of courage and his knack for daring at places that angels will cringe set him apart as a man who is ready to brave the storm to achieve his desire and craving for a better Nigeria where genius will be unleashed to catapult the nation to the zenith of our potential.
And that is why people like Fayose who is the PDP can key into the Asiwaju project proudly, consciously, boldly, and happily.
That is where he stands, and that is the place where most men and women of goodwill are standing.
It is no doubt that Tinubu has both administrative acumen and political gravitas.
Tinubu is an accomplished political technician, breaking out of the grips of an antiquated Afenifere and taking charge of the southwest might look easy. But it took daftness and balls.
Tinubu has balls and balls are critically important. It’s good to hire a Havard researcher to propound theories of development, but it’s better to have a practical political engineer to manage this Nigeria. Because today’s Nigeria is not a Ferrari.
