Former Senator representing Kebbi South, Bala Na’Allah, has explained why he has remained a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) despite what he described as an unexplained political situation in Kebbi State.
Na’Allah spoke during an interview with Arise TV, where he reflected on his political journey, his relationship with the APC and his long-standing involvement in Nigeria’s democratic process. He said his decision to remain in the party was consistent with his political history and commitment to the political process.
The former lawmaker recalled his involvement in bringing the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP) to Kebbi at a time when elective positions were being distributed among political stakeholders in the state. According to him, despite his role in establishing the party in the state, he did not receive any elective position.
“I specifically was responsible for getting the political party called the DPP at that time to Kebbi, and surprisingly, all the posts and elective offices were shared in Kebbi, and not even a councillorship was given to me. I never defected,” Na’Allah said.
He explained that the experience did not make him abandon the party or move to another political platform. Na’Allah maintained that his political commitment has not been based solely on access to elective positions or government appointments.
His comments come amid renewed discussions about political loyalty, party membership and the 2027 general elections, with politicians and political parties already positioning themselves ahead of the polls.
