Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party SDP, Olorogun Barrister Kenneth Gbagi, has told all Igbos from across the Niger that are living in Delta to vote for the SDP, saying the party has a welfare programme that accommodates all people living in the state.

Olorogun Gbagi spoke on Tuesday when he led his campaign team to Lower Erediuwa Motor Spare Parts Association (LESPA) in Deco, Warri, Delta state.

Gbagi told the Igbos in the market that the energy all Nigerians spent to vote for Peter Obi, who many adjudged to be the winner of the last presidential election, should be deployed to vote for him in the March 11 governorship election in Delta state.

The SDP governorship candidate who commended Nigerians for their commitment to good governance and transparent leadership, said he is an epitome of integrity, competence and capacity, the special qualities inherent in Peter Obi that endeared him to the Nigerian people.

In the consultative meeting where the Ibo spare parts dealers vowed to vote for Gbagi on Saturday, the guber candidate said he is not tainted by the corruption toga in society, hence he is needed in Delta government house to clean up the corruption in the system.

He told the traders: “Your leadership is good. I do not know how to tell lies. Many of us are from Lagos. The economy of Lagos is owned by Igbos. I want to thank you for the love Igbos demonstrated for Obi last Saturday.

“This great Delta is owned by all of us. I’m not comfortable that after so many years you are still in this place doing your business. I will build Igbo mega city in Delta state.

“I want to beg you. I will develop Ibo business hub in this state. I believe Ibos do not tell lies. You should get ready to leave this place when I become governor.

“I’m a business man before I became a politician. I want to develop the state in a way that Ibos everywhere will come to Delta state and do business. I need you to develop this state.

“All we need from you is that what you did for Obi across the country, do it for me and SDP in Delta. Let’s be wise in our votes. If all of you vote for SDP, we have won the election.

“Let us bring Delta to its past glory. It’s only with industry we can transform Delta state.

Chairman of the spare parts dealers association, Mr. Emeka Odili, told the guber candidate that Deltans are beaming searchlight on a candidate with capacity and competence who can transform this state for the good of all residents.

“We need capable people to be governor. We are tired of same people leading this state. We know what you can do. You always tell people the truth. We need you in the government house. We will vote for you.”

Olorogun Gbagi also visited spare parts unity market, at Ugbosu Keke market in Effurun, Uvwie local government area of the state, where he assured the people of better opportunities if he eventually emerges as governor.
