Got intel on Dangote trucks hauling what they shouldn’t? That info could now be worth half a million naira as Dangote Industries launches a whistleblower bounty to crush illegal logistics racketeering.
In a bold move to sanitize its fleet operations, the conglomerate announced a N500,000 cash reward for anyone who provides credible information leading to the arrest of offenders or interception of unauthorized goods or even people being transported in its branded trucks.
The company made it crystal clear in a Lagos statement: Dangote trucks are strictly product-specific.
· Dangote Cement trucks = only cement, limestone, gypsum, coal, and clinker
· Dangote Sugar trucks = only sugar products
· NASCON trucks = only Dangote Salt and DanQ Seasoning
· Dangote Packaging vehicles = only bags and packaging materials
· Dangote Refinery trucks = only polypropylene
· Dangote Fertiliser trucks = only urea fertilizer
Any deviation? That’s illegal haulage—and both drivers and cargo owners risk arrest, confiscation, and prosecution.
To make tips actionable, the company urged whistleblowers to provide:
· Truck type, plate number, cab number
· Location, goods description, truck color
· Photos of the vehicle and cargo (where possible)
Dedicated hotlines have been set up for plants in Obajana, Okpella, and Gboko, while law enforcement has been authorized to make on-the-spot arrests.
“Public cooperation remains critical in our efforts to eradicate illegal haulage activities. We encourage anyone with credible information to come forward,” the statement read.
With this zero-tolerance stance, Dangote isn’t just protecting its brand it’s drawing a line in the sand for transparency, accountability, and lawful logistics across Nigeria.
