Omoyele Sowore, Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) for the 2023 general elections,has declared his support for a mass protest against President Muhammadu Buhari’s government over lingering fuel scarcity, unpaid allowances to senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force and other socioeconomic hardships caused by the failed policies of the government.
Sowore who made this declaration on Wednesday in a Twitter post decried the suffering inflicted on Nigerians by the Buhari-led administration in close to eight years.
He said, “I am in total support of mass action against the inhuman @MBuhari regime over currency crisis, petroleum scarcity, unpaid allowances to senior @policeng officers and general suffering inflicted on Nigerians. #Organize Don’t Agonize #RevolutionNow #WeCantContinueLikeThis.”
Meanwhile, SaharaReporters had reported how some residents of Auchi town, a part of Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, stormed the major streets of the town to protest against the lingering scarcity and hike in the price of petrol nationwide.
The protesters who were seen on the streets on Wednesday morning demanded positive changes that would improve their quality of life.
the residents called on the government to intervene in the fuel scarcity crisis and alleviate the suffering of the Nigerian masses.
In a similar development, some aggrieved senior personnel of the Nigeria Police Force had announced that they would hold a mega protest in Lagos State over their unpaid six months arrears by the authorities.
