It was a harvest of projects in Aniocha North Local Government Area as State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Delta State, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, commissioned several infrastructure projects, initiated and executed by the immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Ndudi Elumelu.

The projects inaugurated include; Obi Palaces, ICT centres, community town halls, and solar street lights executed by the former minority leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, for the people of Aniocha North Local Government Area.

The projects commissioned on Thursday, March 27, 2025 included one Community town hall each at Issele-Azagba, Otulu, Ezi, Idumuje-Ugboko and Issele-Uku; one Obi palace each at Onicha-Olona, Obomkpa, and Idumuje-Unor; ICT Centre at Onicha-Ugbo and Issele-Uku; market road and Ogbuefe Nnamdi Mohayam Road in Issele-Uku; a farm road and Solar Streetlights in Onicha-Uku.

In his speech during the commissioning, Arenyeka stated that the landmark Projects aligned with the M.O.R.E Agenda of the state government, which encourages infrastructure development.

He expressed gratitude to the former minority leader for his developmental strides that promote the party, even as he described him as a Man with the Spirit and Passion for infrastructure development of the People.

According to him, “What you have done today by building these projects is that you have taken civilization to another level in our state.”

“Our traditional rulers, students, road users, community leaders, and everyone in the society will benefit from your projects.”

The Delta State PDP Chairman advised members of the communities to make proper use of the facilities and ensure that they are maintained and protected for long-term benefits and usage.

Earlier, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, while introducing the completed projects, noted that the palaces were built in accordance with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E Agenda, which aims to improve the well-being of the traditional institution in Delta State.

He explained that historically, most communities either had hereditary or age-ranked rulers who often used private homes as palaces.

“What normally happens is that when an Obi comes in, he uses a private house as a palace. When he passes away, his successor does the same.”

“Therefore, we came up with the idea to build a palace where the Obi can reside upon taking office, ensuring continuity of leadership. When God calls him, the community will clean up the place for the next person who will then inhabit the palace.”

“Our governor recognizes the importance of the traditional institution, as evidenced by the visit of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to meet with traditional rulers.”

Elumelu appreciated the presence of the State Chairman of the PDP and members of his entourage in Aniocha Oshimili Federal Constituency and said it was a clear demonstration of their support for the MORE Agenda of the Governor.

In a chat with Journalists in his Onicha-Uku home, the renowned Politician maintained that the projects inaugurated were projects that are people oriented and torchy to the lives of the people.

He said it is all about giving back to the people who he noted had constantly voted For PDP in Delta State.

“That informs why we do what we do to put smiles on the face of the People whether in office or out of office. The important thing is that Delta State is PDP and PDP is Delta State and you can’t begin to explain that because you are not in office, therefore, you can’t do anything. Ours is to make sure that our people are happy in line with the MORE Agenda of His Excellency the Governor of our dear State.”

On what has been his moving force behind the harvest of projects Elumelu said, “It is the Passion to be there for the people,”

He explained that passion to serve the people makes it easy and natural to be there for them at all times.

He thanked the People of Aniocha Oshimili Federal Constituency and appreciated God for using him as an instrument of service to the people all these years.

Also in an interview with journalists, the Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Hon Emma Bazim Chinye said, “I feel extremely happy that all this is happening under my watch as the Local Government Chairman of Aniocha North.

“I am so happy and very grateful to Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu. Notwithstanding that for the past two years, he has been on Sabbatical, yes we say he is on Sabbatical because we know he will be going back by God’s grace in 2027.

He explained that within the period of two years the Rt. Hon. Elumelu has been out of office, he has done a lot for the infrastructure and human capital development of the people.

While appreciating the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwore for his proactive execution of his MORE Agenda, the Council boss maintained that Elumelu has been following the Governor’s footsteps noting that the harvest of projects was a testimony of what MORE Agenda is all about.

He called on benefiting Communities where the projects are located to take ownership and work assiduously towards proper maintenance of the projects.

His Royal Majesty, Obi Agbogidi Nduka, Obi of Issele-Uku; His Royal Majesty, Obi Charles Anyasi III, Obi of Idumuje-Uno and His Royal Majesty, Obi Chukwunomoso Nwoko, Obi of Idumuje-Ugboko in their separate reactions on the landmark Projects, appreciated the former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives for always being there for the people and the traditional institution, noting that he has been a beacon of infrastructure development to the benefits of the people.

Also the various members of the communities where the projects are sited commended Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu for the people oriented projects and said he has continued to connect with the people, even as they prayed that God in His Infinite Mercy will continue to use him as an instrument of service to the people.
