Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has declared Monday, July 8, 2024, a public holiday in commemoration of the new Islamic year, which began on Sunday, July 7.
In a statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Abdullahi Garba Faskari, the Katsina governor congratulates Muslims statewide and worldwide on the new year, which began on Sunday, the first day of Al-Muharram, 1446.
Malam Radda urged Muslims to adhere strictly to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in their daily activities.
He also urged clerics to promote peaceful coexistence among communities and offer prayers for an end to the country’s security challenges and hardships.
