As the 8th National Youth Games open in Asaba, traders at the Stephen Keshi Stadium have commended the Delta state government and the State Sports Commission for the opportunity to participate in the event, just as the local organising committee has assured Nigerians of a memorable event.
With stalls offering various goods and services, the traders are hopeful for strong business deals during the competition, which runs from September 9 to 19, 2024.
During interviews on Sunday, September 8, several traders shared their excitement and high expectations. Vendors were seen displaying shoes, sportswear, clothing, food items, and refreshments, preparing for the influx of athletes and spectators.
Mrs. Faith Christopher, Mrs. Agia Hope, and Mrs. Abubakar Ibrahim all commended the clean and well-maintained stadium environment, expressing optimism about the business opportunities ahead.
They also appreciated the state for providing a conducive environment for business operators.
Mr. Sunday Okonkwo, a footwear trader from Anambra, shared his positive experience as a regular participant in events hosted by Delta State.
He noted that previous engagements had been profitable and looked forward to another successful outing.
He wished the athletes well, anticipating a steady flow of business throughout the games.
