Law abiding residents in Essi Layout, nearby Sido street and environs in Warri were living in fear following the clash between two rival street cult groups that claimed two members, one each from both sides in Warri on Tuesday June 2, 2020 and on Wednesday June 3, 2020.
The identity of the dead suspected cultist who was killed in Essi Layout was not known but the one that was killed in Sido Street was simply identified as Chinese, paternally Itsekiri, maternally Urhobo and lived in a storey building along Cemetery Road by Iyara Junction, Warri.
The Police Public Relations Office in Delta State Police Command, Asaba when contacted for confirmation stated that “Only one was confirmed, but we were told that he was shot by a group of five boys . We don’t know if they are cultists.”
