President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is yet to assign ministers to ministry of petroleum resources and ministry of Niger Delta Affairs. These are conspicuous ministries that have been existing over the years.
In the past administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, he reserved the ministry of petroleum resources to himself with a supportive minister of state, Chief Timipre Sylva.
In this Tinubu’s cabinet, it’s not clear whether he is still toeing the same line of his predecessor in assuming minister of petroleum resources.
Also, Tinubu did not announce minister for Niger Delta Affairs. This ministry was created in the wake of agitation by former militants in the Niger Delta region.
May be he is reserving the office for Delta’s Stella Okotete who is yet to cleared by the senate for the ministerial appointment.
Okotete was among three ministerial nominees yet to be cleared by senate citing security reports by DSS as why they could not be confirmed.
