In a rare display of cross-party unity and grassroots endorsement, stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 5, Ubulu-Uku, have thrown their full support behind Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, describing him as a pillar of effective representation in Delta North and a driving force behind local development.
The endorsement took place during a well-attended ward meeting held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the residence of Prince Fred Mordi, the ward’s political leader.
Speaking on behalf of the Senator was Mr. Chiedu Abili, Deputy Chief of Staff and fellow ward member, who delivered a goodwill message and provided updates on Senator Nwoko’s policy efforts.
Abili conveyed the Senator’s appreciation for the loyalty and sustained engagement of Ward 5 constituents, emphasizing Ubulu-Uku’s special place in Nwoko’s political journey. “Ubulu is not just a constituency, it is home,” Abili said. “The Senator is aware of the challenges here and is committed to bringing development closer to the people.”
In a notable political development, APC Ward 5 leaders also welcomed new members who recently defected from other parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Abili described the move as more than just a defection, calling it “a realignment of vision and values,” and encouraged full participation in the ongoing APC membership registration and revalidation exercise.
The meeting also spotlighted the Anioma State Creation Bill (SB. 481), spearheaded by Senator Nwoko and scheduled for public hearing in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, from July 4–5, 2025. Abili urged constituents to rally behind the bill, highlighting its historical and cultural significance. “This is not just about politics,” he said. “It’s about identity and future generations. Anioma must speak with one voice.”
Turning to local security concerns, Abili acknowledged recent disturbances in the area and conveyed the Senator’s call for a unified vigilante structure to enhance coordination and ensure more effective support from his office. “The Senator wants to do more,” he noted.
Abili also announced three major federal projects secured for Ubulu-Uku under the 2025 Appropriation Act, thanks to Senator Nwoko’s intervention:
Channelization and erosion control of the Onicha-Ugbo/Ubulu-Uku road to safeguard lives and property.
Construction of an Akwa Ocha textile factory, aimed at job creation, women empowerment, and cultural preservation.
Installation of solar-powered streetlights in key locations to boost security and support nighttime economic activity.
Host and community leader Prince Fred Mordi commended Senator Nwoko for his inclusive leadership and proactive representation. “Our Distinguished Senator has not only remembered us but has carried us along every step of the way,” he said. “He is one of the few who truly understands that real power begins and ends with the people.”
The endorsement by APC stakeholders in a traditionally competitive political landscape underscores Senator Nwoko’s growing influence and the broad respect he commands across party lines. It also cements his reputation as a lawmaker focused on unity and sustainable development rather than partisan divides.
As the Anioma agenda continues to gather momentum and the 2027 political horizon comes into view, Senator Ned Nwoko appears to be consolidating both institutional backing and grassroots legitimacy—demonstrating that in politics, performance and vision remain the strongest currencies.
