The Anambra state police command apprehended a controversial Prophet in Anambra state, identified as Onyebuchi Okocha, popularly known as ‘ Onyeze Jesus’ .
The founder of Children of Light Anointing Ministries, Nkpor, Idemili North local government area of the state, who was reportedly apprehended on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
The popular Anambra state pastor who was apprehended simply because of his criminal act raised serious reactions on the social media.
The controversial pastor was said to be seen with his client performing some ritual cleansing in the river.
The man of God who for sometime now has been rumored to be a fake pastor was apprehended after his actions brought the attention of the state government and he was apprehended.
The have been so many cases of pastors in Nigeria arrested with charms and other Diabolic elements but the one of this pastor was really shocking.
How The Popular Anambra State pastor Was Apprehend
According to reports ‘ Onyeze Jesus’ was in the police custody and would likely be arraigned for various offences on Thursday, January 28, 2021.
The State Government, through a press released by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr C. Don Adinuba, had on Monday, January 25, 2021, warned the Prophet against his practices which it termed ‘ criminal and indecent conduct in the name of Christianity.
Reactions Made By The Anambra State Government After The Prophet Was Arrested
According to the Anambra state government the criminal and indicent act done by certain individuals in the name of Christianity has been seriously condemned by the Anambra State Government.
The State Government made this address while reacting to the viral videos of one Prophet Onyeze Jesus performing rituals for his naked clients in a river
An address which was signed by the State Commissioner for Information & Public Enlightenment, Don Adinuba, ” said that the prophet promotes superstition and strife in the society by telling his ” brainwashed followers that their misfortune is caused by family members, relatives, friends and business associates.”
The state Government warned seriously that it will not stand watching, while a handful of individuals flagrantly abuse its values, flout its laws and bring the state into a serious mockery.
The state further stated that ” The Anambra State Government is in possession of some videos produced by one person who goes by the name of Onyeze Jesus based in Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area of the state, where he not only claims to change the economic status of his adherents by magical means but also throws a lot of Nigeria’ s currency notes into the river and compels his adult followers, both male and female, to bath naked in the river and records them on video which he distributes gleefully to all manner of people through the Internet and other means” .
” The State Government is appalled at the conduct of this man. Anambra people are famous throughout the world for their industry, knowledge, ingenuity, perseverance, a high savings rate and an infectious business drive, all combined to enable them to achieve tremendous success in various fields. Their success is not overnight nor through magic” .
The statement added that ” Onyeze Jesus promotes superstition and strife in society. By telling his gullible and brainwashed followers that their misfortune is caused by family members, relatives, friends and business associates through magical powers, he is fomenting serious troubles and instigating eternal enmity in various places and businesses. Some of these troubles can lead to physical fights, bodily injuries and even deaths”
A serious self- acclaimed pastor has been apprehended by police detectives after he was allegedly caught with charms and other fetish items which he normally uses to collect money from the people.
However, there have been several cases of such in the suspected fake pastor identified as Ikechukwu Ogbonna from Ebonyi state, who was reportedly in the habit of using diabolical means to collect money from people while preaching and going around saying he is a pastor.
According to a Facebook user, Nwachukwu Success who shared the story, fetish items were found in a box he was apprehended with which also contained his bible and some of his preaching tools.
“The man was badly disgraced and was taken to the police station for interrogations.
“There have been series of Nigeria pastors who have been arrested by the police for been in possession of Diabolic items which they use in receiving their members.
“Pastors in Nigeria nowadays are turning into something else nobody now knows the real pastors and the fake ones.
