Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has called for stronger economic cooperation between Delta and Anambra states, saying the two neighbouring states have the potential to become Nigeria’s leading twin growth hubs and major investment destinations in Africa.

Speaking at the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit in Asaba, Soludo said the completion of the Second Niger Bridge has brought both states closer together, creating new opportunities for trade, industrial development and regional economic integration. He urged both governments to establish permanent working groups to strengthen business partnerships and promote shared economic growth.

The governor stressed that Nigeria’s recent economic reforms have improved investor confidence by creating a more stable and predictable business environment. He said attracting both domestic and foreign investment will be critical to creating jobs, reducing poverty and accelerating economic growth across the country.

Soludo also challenged organisers of investment summits to move beyond speeches and focus on securing real business agreements, investment partnerships and projects that deliver measurable economic benefits. He added that collaboration between federal and state governments is essential to turn policy reforms into tangible opportunities for citizens.

Highlighting the importance of local manufacturing, the governor encouraged Nigerians to support Made-in-Nigeria products, arguing that greater patronage of locally produced goods, including clothing, could create millions of jobs and strengthen the country’s industrial base. He even proposed that future investment summits adopt a Made-in-Nigeria dress code to promote local businesses and industries.
