WIKE’S NEW PUPPET: Osun Senator Dumps APC, Grabs PDP Ticket in Shocking Return

Olubiyi Fadeyi bolts from Tinubu’s party, cites ‘betrayal’ as he clinches Wike-backed Senate slot for 2027

In a dramatic political twist, Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi has abandoned the All Progressives Congress (APC) and stormed back to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)—with a bombshell announcement that he’s already been anointed as the party’s 2027 senatorial candidate for Osun Central.

The lawmaker, who just four months ago was among five National Assembly members who defected to the APC, made his u-turn official on Thursday, declaring his allegiance to “the PDP led by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.”

The betrayal that sparked the walkout

Fadeyi’s resignation letter to the Senate didn’t mince words. He accused Osun APC leadership of trampling on a “sole ticket” agreement allegedly blessed by President Bola Tinubu himself.

“Mr President gave me assurances and an agreement was reached to give me the sole ticket,” Fadeyi fumed. “But no consensus process was genuinely conducted, nor were party primaries held in a transparent manner.”

The final straw? While his four defection colleagues secured return tickets, Fadeyi was left in the cold losing the APC ticket to Adekunle Adegoke (SAN).

Not anti-Tinubu, just anti-betrayal

Fadeyi insists his exit isn’t a rebellion against the President, but a principled stand:

“This decision is informed by my conviction that democratic principles, mutual trust and respect for agreements must always prevail.”

But political watchers are already reading between the lines—this is a high-stakes power play with Wike’s stamp all over it.
