A veteran actor, Mr. Pete Edochie, has concluded that most women who are beaten up by their husbands is as a result of feminism.
Edochie who said this in an interview with BBC Igbo, added that modern days women lack basic skill such as cooking to keep their husbands happy.
He added that women are usually to blame for cases of domestic violence.
According to the veteran actor, any woman who cannot cook has lost the right to refer to herself as a woman.
He noted that feminism isn’t something black people are known for.
“Once a woman leaves her parents to meet her husband and takes his surname, she is to be submissive to him, if she wasn’t married, she can do whatever she wants”.
He regretted that some of the women cannot keep their husbands anymore.
“Is that a good thing? These women are schooled but a lot of wives cannot even cook one thing that a woman should be good in so as to be able to keep her husband’.
Edochie said that his mother was not educated but she would cook all sorts of soups, including bitter leaf, Oha, Ogbono, Okro, Egwusi, Ukwa and what have you which his father enjoyed those days unlike the modern day wives”.
He posited that feminism has no place in Nigeria culture while urging Nigeria women to stop emulating Western women who do not have respect and submission for their husbands.
