Clara Jacob, a 26-year-old lady has drowned in Taraba State.
According to an eyewitness, the lady drowned on Saturday, October 30, in a hotel swimming pool in Jalingo.
The victim and her friends were swimming at the hotel swimming pool when they noticed she was missing.
Upon searching for her, they found her struggling in the deep end of the pool.
Immediately, they called the pool manager that someone was drowning in his pool.
When they discovered that the manager himself does not know how to swim, they frantically tried to get someone who could help but to no avail.
Sadly, she gave up the ghost before help could come. Her lifeless body was eventually dragged out after over thirty minutes of staying in the water.
Confirming the sad news, the elder brother to the late Clara, Mr Jacob Joseph stated that the body of the deceased has been taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo to be deposited at the mortuary.
While expressing shock over how his sister died, Joseph stated that he was surprised that a hotel maintains a swimming pool with a pool manager that cannot swim; a manager who watched as a young woman died helplessly without trying to save her.
