As the people inch closer to the 2023 election, Prince Ned Nwoko, the Delta North People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate, has continously received endorsements from various groups. The Delta North market men and women association has also been enchanted by the legal consultant’s charisma, as they openly declared their support for him.
The association, which is made up of different calibres of men and women traders, officially pledged their support for Nwoko candidacy, on Sunday, 20 November, at Nwoko’s country home in Idumuje Ugboko, Delta state.
Recall that a subset of the association, Ika South chapter, had earlier declared that their votes are for Nwoko, and advised candidates of other parties not to waste their time campaigning in their chapter and local government.
In unison, the whole chapters of the market association in Delta North, led by their president, Chief Mrs. Kate Onah, have also avowed to support Nwoko.
Addressing the representatives of the association, Nwoko heartily appreciated their support and also implored them to vote for PDP candidates at all levels, stressing that, voting just him is not enough. He stated that, not having PDP occupy the presidential and governorship positions can frustrate his efforts as a senator.
In his words, “If you must support me, you must support all PDP candidates at both federal and state levels. I am not contesting for senatorial position because I want to answer Senator. I am already who I am.
“I am contesting for this position because I want to serve the people, and that means I must achieve results. For me to be a productive senator, we must have PDP members at all levels, especially as president and as governor.”
“Sending me to Abuja and putting other party in-between may frustrate my efforts,” he added.
Mrs Onah, speaking on behalf of the association assured that they would vote PDP at all five political offices, 5/5. They reiterated that, their votes are for Nwoko. “Wherever Nwoko is, there we would be,” they chorused
