Following the Delta North Muslim community endorsement for Prince Ned Nwoko, the Delta North People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate, the Christian Association of Nigeria, Idumuje-Ugboko unit, has also declared their support for the senatorial candidate.
The Christian association, on Sunday, 22 January, 2023, visited Nwoko at his palatial home, in Idumuje-Ugboko, to officially identify with him.
In a brief interview with Emerald, Rev. Father Kennethcross Ezeme, the chairman of CAN, Idumuje-Ugboko unit, revealed that, the association decided to support Nwoko because of his humanitarian works in the community and beyond. He also laid emphasis on the importance of having someone with both national and international exposure occupy a very important office as the senate.
“Ned Nwoko is someone whose philanthropic projects have no bound. He is well exposed in life. The office of the senate needs someone with both national and international exposure, to be able to move the senatorial district forward. We are confident that, with Ned Nwoko’s level of exposure and experiences, judging from his track records, he would be able to move Delta North forward in different areas.” Rev. Ezeme said.
Nwoko, appreciating the gesture, said he is sincerely delighted for the endorsement. He noted that, though, he is a Muslim, majority of his supporters are Christians. He promised not to betray their trust if elected.
“To me, the most important thing in life is humanity. The ability to love and support one another irrespective of class and religion. My goal is to create a conducive environment for everyone to thrive in their chosen vocations, and make Anioma a good reference for responsive governance.” Nwoko said.
Alongside Rev. Ezeme, were, Venerable Anthony C. Nwasiwe, Apostle Moemeke Orlando, Rev. Okoh Samuel, and host of other clerics, at the meeting with Nwoko.
