*Gbaramatu is one of the major oil producing zones in the Niger Delta
*It is home of the former militant commander, Government Ekpemukpolo, aka Tompolo
*Sheriff Mulade is one of the Ijaw leaders in the area.
*The Pere of Gbaramatu kingdom is celebrating 5th anniversary on the throne
*Mulade praised the monarch saying his reign in the kingdom has brought peace and development to the area.
DETAILS
A prominent Traditional High Chief in Gbaramatu Kingdom of Warri South West LGA of Delta State, Chief (Comrade) Sheriff Mulade says the reign of the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Oboro Gbaraun the II, Aketekpe, Agadagba, has ushered in relative peace to the kingdom.
Chief Mulade, the Ibe-sorimowei of the Kingdom stated this in Warri at the weekend while speaking with journalists on the fifth coronation anniversary of the Gbaramatu Monarch.
According to Chief Mulade, the five-year reign of His Royal Majesty on the throne has ushered in peace, which in turn has helped to foster rapid development in the oil and gas producing but undeveloped kingdom.
Comrade Mulade who is also the National Coordinator of the Center for Peace and Environmental Justice CEPEJ, an NGO, implored the federal government of Nigeria, the Delta State and the twenty five local governments, as well as multi national oil and gas companies operating in the area to pay more attention to the rapid development of Gbaramatu Kingdom, a major oil and gas producing area in the Niger Delta Region.
The peace, justice and environment advocate stated that Gbaramatu Kingdom would continue to witness more rapid socio-economic growth and development when all sons and daughters of the land begin to play their roles.
On behalf of himself and his family, Chief Sheriff Mulade, a philanthropist and an educationist, wished the Gbaramatu Monarch God’s blessings and wisdom to pilot the affairs of the kingdom in the years ahead.
