WICKEDNESS! Woman pours petrol on her 10-year-old daughter, sets her ablaze

A woman identified as Aisha Tijani has been apprehended by Ogun state police command on March 20 after pouring petrol on her daughter and setting her ablaze.

The suspect was arrested after one Moroof Ayinde reported the situation at Mowe divisional headquarters.

Ayinde revealed that the mother was angry after her daughter took a phone she had seized and handed it over to her sibling.

When the police received the report the DPO Mowe division, CSP Folashade Tanaruno quickly moved to the scene with his team and arrested the suspect.

The victim, who suffered severe injuries from the burn was rushed to a nearby hospital before she was referred Olabisi Onabanjo teaching hospital for proper medical attention.

On interrogation, the suspect, who claimed to have been separated from the father of the children, explained to the police that she didn’t know what came over her when she was carrying out the wicked act.

The spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident said the commissioner of police, CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered the transfer of the suspect to state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation.
