Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, touches down in Ogun State today (Tuesday) for a high-impact one-day visit that will see her launch a major food bank programme, commission a 108-unit housing estate, and unveil a 250-bed ultra-modern hospital.
The Zonal National Community Food Bank programme kicks off in Makun, Sagamu, where the First Lady will lead the distribution of food items to vulnerable and indigent residents—a key plank of the Federal Government’s social intervention push aimed at cushioning hardship for struggling households.
But that’s just the beginning of a packed itinerary.
According to Hon. Kayode Akinmade, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Senator Tinubu will also commission:
· The Muhammadu Buhari Estate – a 108-unit housing complex in Kobape, Abeokuta, boosting the state’s affordable housing stock.
· The Gateway Medical Centre of Excellence – a state-of-the-art, 250-bed ultra-modern hospital designed to deliver advanced healthcare to residents of Ogun and neighbouring states.
The First Lady will cap her visit with a high-level stakeholder engagement at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, where she is expected to strengthen collaboration between the Federal and Ogun State Governments on social welfare, housing, and healthcare delivery.
The visit underscores the renewed commitment of both governments to improving the quality of life for Nigerians—one community at a time.
