Dr. Samuel Tsebe, a member of the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC), has resigned from Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Tsebe, a former lawmaker who represented Akwanga South Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, announced his decision in Akwanga on Monday.
He said his resignation was motivated by his desire to pursue his political ambitions and contribute to the development of his community and Nigeria.
The electoral commissioner said he had formally submitted his resignation letter to the APC chairman in Akwanga West Electoral Ward.
Tsebe described his decision as a personal one, confirming that he had defected to the SDP.
He expressed appreciation to the APC and its leadership for the opportunity to serve in different capacities during his time with the party.
Tsebe also urged Nigerians to support the SDP as the country approaches the 2027 general elections.
