Dear Delta State Government and Federal Government,

Your Excellency,

On behalf of the good people of Abraka, the members of the Abraka Need Roads group, and the general commuters, we will like to extend our congratulations on your successful inauguration as the Executive Governor of Delta State.

We are writing to bring to your attention the urgent need for the rehabilitation of the Eku- Abraka – Agbor Road. This road holds great economic importance as it serves as the gateway in and out of Delta State.

However, its current deplorable condition is greatly impacting the transportation of goods and services, leading to economic hardship for all Deltans.

The road has deteriorated to a point where it is increasingly difficult to navigate, making it almost impassable for motorists. This not only hinders the movement of goods and services, but also poses a significant risk to the safety of commuters.

The Eku section of the road has become a trap used by kidnappers, with numerous road users, including students and lecturers of Delta State University, being kidnapped for ransom due to the poor road condition.

While we understand that this road is under federal government jurisdiction, the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has recently assured state governments of quick approval for assistance in repairing federal roads, even through informal means.

We urge you, Your Excellency, to leverage on this promise from the Honorable Minister and carry out urgent repair work on this crucial road.

We kindly request that you prioritize the rehabilitation of the Eku-Abraka-Agbor Road to save lives and properties, improve connectivity, stimulate economic growth, and enhance the overall well-being of the people.

Your Excellency, it is important to note that the public is already agitated over the deplorable state of this road.

We believe that investing in the rehabilitation of the Eku-Abraka-Agbor Road will demonstrate your commitment to the safety of lives and properties, reduce transportation costs, and endear your government to the people.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

Comr (Dr) Kelly Efemena Umukoro Aka Akima
