The 25 local government chairmen of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta state have pledged their support and loyalty to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

The party chairmen made the pledge in Asaba, after their meeting hosted by the vice chairman of the PDP chairmen, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji.

Speaking on behalf of the chairmen, the chairman of chairmen and Warri North chairman of the party, Dr. Isaac Wilkie, said that it was the custom of the local government party chairmen to meet from time to time, hosted by any of their  cooperation among them.

He explained that the chairmen were always in cooperation and unity and put in great efforts for victory in all elections, adding that they held the governor in high esteem and will always support him as the leader of the party in the State.

Wilkie explained that their positions as party chairmen today, would not stop their political career, as some of them were eminently qualified for other appointive and elective positions.

He further urged his colleagues on the need to hold their current position firmly, ensure unity, cooperation and work assiduously to win all elections as they would never be delighted to taste the other side of politics.

The chairman averred that as party chairmen, they faced series of challenges and attacks from people, who might not be favoured at some point, but assured that despite the challenges, victory will always remain their major focus.

In his words, “We hold cooperation; we hold unity dearly, efforts to win all elections and great support to the governor, who is the leader of the party in the state to make him win always”.

The chairmen assured that the PDP remained intact and stronger to win every election at any time.
