“Markets and shops throughout Udu Kingdom will be completely closed on Saturday, April 19, and Friday, April 24, from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.”
All residents, both indigenes and non-indigenes, have been urged to respect these directives and join in paying their last respects to the departed monarch.
The Council of Chiefs and the Royal Family are currently putting together arrangements for the final rites of passage, with details to be announced in due course.
Speaking on behalf of the Udu people, High Chief Odibo expressed profound sadness over the loss but also gratitude to God for a glorious and impactful reign. He called for unity, cooperation, and solemn respect as the kingdom navigates this period of mourning.
