Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has felicitated with former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Dr. Stephen Orishe Oru, on his 79th birthday, describing him as an accomplished public servant and respected elder statesman.
Dafinone, in a birthday message issued on behalf of his family and the people of Delta Central, commended Oru for his years of service to Delta State and Nigeria, noting his contributions to public administration, education and human capital development.
He highlighted Oru’s service as Chairman of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and Chairman of the Governing Council of Delta State Polytechnic, Oghara, as evidence of his commitment to strengthening education and advancing national development.
The Senator also acknowledged Oru’s tenure as Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, saying he brought his experience and knowledge to the development of the Niger Delta region and the country.
According to Dafinone, Oru’s decades of public service remain worthy of recognition and commendation, particularly his contributions to the development of Delta State and Nigeria.
He prayed that the former minister would continue to enjoy joy, good health and blessings in the years ahead.
