Wife of Delta Governor and Founder, You Matter Charity Foundation, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori has reassured Deltans that the development plans of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as encapsulated in the MORE Agenda, will go round the state.

Deaconess Oborevwori stated this on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 when she received on a courtesy visit, executives and members of Evwreni Clan Improvement Union, Asaba branch at the first lady’s office, government house, Asaba.

She noted that, notwithstanding the large size of the state, Governor Oborevwori’s administration will deliver the dividends of democracy to Deltans through sustainable and realistic developments.

While assuring them that their requests which were also presented to her during a recent visit to the community will be properly considered, Deaconess Oborevwori said “We just came into office and the expectation is very high but by God’s grace, we will do the best we can. You know they call my husband, the Ukodo of Okpe, the Ukodo will go round and everybody will partake of the Ukodo by the grace of God. You people will smile and will not regret having your daughter here”.

On her pet project, the You Matter Charity Foundation, the governor’s wife explained that her foundation is her little way of creating a world where everyone is valued regardless of background. “Through the foundation’s various projects, the lives of Deltans will receive positive transformation, growth and peace”.

She urged them to continually lift Delta state and the governor in prayers. “All we need is prayer from you people. You people have made us to succeed; to be the governor of Delta state, we need your prayers and with prayers I believe we will do exceedingly well and your expectations from us will become a reality. When my husband succeeds, we all will succeed and the dividends of democracy will no doubt spread to our communities’’.

She expressed delight by the visit noting that as a daughter of Evwreni kingdom, she decided to honour them with the first official courtesy visit to her office since her assumption as the First Lady of Delta State and pledged to always identify with union’s activities.

Speaking earlier, the President, Evwreni Clan Improvement Union, Asaba branch, Mr Samuel Diateke, appreciated the Governor’s wife for the warm reception and for bringing pride to Evwreni kingdom as the First Lady of the state. He assured of their total support for her pet project to enable it fulfill the desired vision for Deltans.

Sheriff Oborevwori on his election victory and for the enormous achievements he has recorded in less than 100 days in office and prayed for the success of his administration.

In his speech, he highlighted several needs of the community noting that when solved, it will improve the welfare of the people and attract development to the kingdom.

Highlights of the visit were the presentation of a congratulatory card to Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori by Evwreni Clan Improvement Union and the appointment of Barr. (Mrs.) Lawrentta Ogbedo as the Director General, You Matter Charity Foundation.
