As political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections begin to gather momentum, the Warri Peace Ambassadors have endorsed House of Representatives aspirant, Chief (Comrade) Sheriff Mulade, PhD, for the Warri Federal Constituency seat.
The group also called for stronger unity and peaceful coexistence among the Ijaw, Itsekiri, and Urhobo ethnic nationalities within the constituency, stressing the need for collective progress over political division.
Speaking on behalf of the group, President Mrs. Tessy Oki and Secretary Friday Ugedi said the 2027 elections should not merely be viewed as another political cycle, but as an opportunity for citizens to elect credible and competent leaders capable of delivering quality representation.
According to the group, Chief Sheriff Mulade remains the most suitable candidate for the position due to his longstanding commitment to grassroots advocacy, peacebuilding, and community development across Warri Federal Constituency.
“The 2027 general elections present another golden opportunity for the people to choose leaders who genuinely represent their interests.
After carefully assessing the aspirants contesting for the Warri Federal Constituency seat, we are convinced that Chief Sheriff Mulade is the right choice,” the group stated.
The Warri Peace Ambassadors noted that Mulade’s track record of accessibility, leadership, and people-oriented initiatives distinguishes him from other contenders.
“Chief Mulade’s antecedents speak for him. He is widely known at the grassroots level and remains accessible to the people.
Beyond politics, he has consistently demonstrated commitment to peace and development within Warri Federal Constituency and beyond,” they added.
The group further described Mulade as a bridge builder who has used sports, education, and advocacy platforms over the years to foster peaceful coexistence among the various ethnic groups in the area.
They also urged members and supporters of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to unite behind his candidacy, describing him as a dependable leader committed to people-focused governance.
“Our support for Chief Mulade is not based on sentiment or ethnicity, but on competence, experience, exposure, and his practical understanding of the needs of the people.
This is an opportunity for meaningful and effective representation, and Warri residents should not allow it to slip away,” the group noted.
