Reports have emerged that the Delta state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, delegates from the local government and wards and party leaders are the persons who will determine who emerges candidates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming party primaries.

He mentioned the governor, the party delegates and the party leaders from all fronts. He said these three persons must have their say in who emerges party candidates in all the positions aspirants are contesting for in the state.
He told the aspirants that the governor has a say in whoever emerges as party candidate. Hence, the slogan “On Okowa we stand.” He said: Okowa has a say in who emerges candidate for House of Assembly. Also, it is the delegates that will decide your fate. The leaders in Aniocha South will also decide.”
In the midst of all this, he said the party will give equal opportunity to all aspirants. He noted that there won’t be imposition of candidates on the party.
