This is an opinion. The writer is not a politician and has no interest in becoming one. This opinion is from an unbiased view and should be seen from a personal perspective, born from an understanding of the job description of a senator.

The job of a senator is law making and as a representative of a people he must be seen and heard. Not just being heard, he must contribute to robust debates from an intelligent point of view. This will make his constituents at home glad. Based on the foregoing, I have decided to pick three senatorial candidates, not minding party affiliation, whom I think are well suited from all points of view to project Delta well at the red chamber of the National Assembly.

Prince Ned Nwoko captured my fancy from Delta North. I see him to be a good representation of the Anioma cause. He has been battling for the senate for some years back, and now I see him clinching the senate in 2023 without much effort.

Ned Nwoko

Ned Nwoko is a well learned man who was in the House of Representatives between 1999 and 2003. His footprint till today is still being remembered. He made much impact in the House of Representatives. In Nigeria, he was instrumental in the Paris club refund for which all the states and 774 local governments benefited immensely.

Now, he is heading to the senate, Anioma is now getting it, not just right but very right. Ned Nwoko has passion for Anioma nation and he is not going to be a disappointment. With his broad experience, Anioma will definitely be on the map of Nigeria.

For Delta central, I see Ede Dafinone as a ready made man to push Delta central beyond where Senatorial Ovie Omo-Agege will leave it. Looking at him, I see intelligence and strenght of character and purpose in him. I do not doubt his capacity and ability to deliver the goods to the people of Delta central. He is a good hand and as the present occupier is leaving, a good man is stepping into his shoes. Delta central is getting it right again. Certainly, with him at the senate, Delta central cannot and will not lag behind.

Ede Dafinone

For Delta South, Joel Onowakpo Thomas is no less a great asset to the senate and the region he will be representing. With the succeses he recorded at Delta Board of Internal Revenue and the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Joel is needed at the senate. He is a man loaded with intelligence and certainly he will do exceptionally well in the senate. Delta South will definitely be proud of him.

Joel Onowakpo Thomas
