Delta2023: Ubulu Uku community leader endorses Gbagi for governor, says majority of Deltans support his ambition

A community leader in Ubulu Uku in Aniocha south local government area of Delta state, Dr. Oscar Osakwe, has said that the most qualified candidate among the three major contenders for the governorship of Delta state is Olorogun Barrister Kenneth Gbagi, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Dr. Osakwe made the remark during an enlarged meeting of community members and stakeholders in Ubulu Uku. According to him: “As for majority of us, we are very much interested in the most qualified gubernatorial candidate to be governor.

“One that is tested, trusted with good governance, with track records of successful governance, strategic succession planning skills, a bridge builder and one riding on the strength of his own political sagacity not someone to be imposed by the  cabals as always the case.

“We want the candidate that is physically, politically and intellectually prepared to lead our dear state out of the prevailing hydra-headed problems. We don’t want a lame-duck puppet governor to be tossed here and there by these devilish godfathers.

“We don’t want a governor that will always be at the mercy of a recalcitrant state assembly being tele-guided by the cabals. But we want a strong governor who will be a man of himself and one with great vision of good governance.”

Osakwe said the only candidate that meets these criteria is Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), saying he is the only perfect man for the job.

He added: “He is visionary, very strategic, philosophical and goal getting political leader with nationally spread associates of progressive leanings.

“Gbagi is a notable champion of democracy and a father of progressive politics. He enjoys respect and admirations from wide range of political leaders including members of the national assembly. Let’s put it for him on March 18, he will do what the enemies of the state abhor.”

He noted that Delta state, a state blessed with human and natural resources, a state that flows with milk and honey has been very unfortunate with irresponsible leadership.

Arising from the irresponsible leadership in the state, he said “Delta state has been hijacked by political anarchist whose trademarks have been scrambling and partitioning of our common wealth.”

He said Delta state needed men “like Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, a man who is coming on his own strength, a man without a godfather, a man who is not a liability, a man who is not a push over and a man who has the ability to put a square peg in a square hole.”

In view of the above, Dr. Osakwe said: “I am making a passionate appeal to every rational mind in Delta state to shun people in politics for self agrandizement and vote for a man who is passionate with the zeal to change the status quo.

“A vote for Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi is a vote for competence, a vote for liberty from unemployment, a vote for freedom from the shackles of intimidation.

“A vote for Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi is a vote for political liberation, a vote for good governance, a vote for transparency, a vote for quality representation and a vote for accountability.”
