The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has urged the President Muhammadu Buhari to sign the recently passed electoral amendment bill into law.

According to Premimum Times, Gbajabiamila, who revealed this to journalists in Abuja said he told the president to support the conduct of direct primaries by political parties as contained in the bill recently passed by lawmakers.

However, the state governors across the two main parties are totally against it because they believe the conduct of direct primaries will take away their power to determine who becomes candidate for elective offices in a state.
