Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state has signed the anti-open grazing bill into law
The bill was passed by the State House of Assembly, where the Speaker of the House, Sheriff Oborevwori, said with the passing of the bill into law, Delta farmers will have a new lease of life
Among states that have signed the bill into law are Lagos, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Ondo and a few others in the Southern region of Nigeria.
The meeting where the agreement was reached was first held in Asaba while September deadline was fixed in Lagos for all states to pass the anti-open grazing law
The passing of the bill into law is expected to put an end to clashes between farmers and Fulani herdsmen in the state.
