The Delta state Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, joyfully joined a massive gathering of supporters to celebrate the inauguration of Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, the esteemed representative of Delta North senatorial district. The momentous event took place on Sunday, June 18, at Mount Ned, Idumuje-Ugboko, the senator’s country home.
The presence of Governor Oborevwori at the ceremony highlighted the shared vision and endorsement of Senator Nwoko’s leadership. In his address, the governor commended Senator Nwoko for his down-to-earth nature and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life, regardless of social status.
He expressed enthusiasm for attending the event in person and acknowledged that Nwoko’s decision to hold his inauguration reception at his hometown instead of Abuja exemplified his commitment to the grassroots and inclusive governance.
Governor Oborevwori expressed his delight, saying, “I am thrilled to be here this afternoon, and I am equally delighted to see the esteemed individuals from Delta North gathered here to celebrate our own. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our distinguished senator.
“Thank you for choosing to celebrate with your people. Throughout the over two decades that I have known you, you have consistently engaged with everyone, from the common people to the middle class and the elite.”
The governor emphasized the importance of Nwoko’s inclusivity and urged him to maintain that approach. He commended the senator for enjoying support from both Christians and Muslims, despite being a Muslim himself, which earned him the endearing nickname “Chris-Lam.”
Governor Oborevwori urged Senator Nwoko to continue his inclusive leadership and emphasized the significance of staying connected to the people he represents, rather than remaining solely in Abuja.
