Governor Okowa, wife go into 14-days self-isolation as daughter tests positive to COVID-19

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state and his wife, Edith, have gone into self-isolation as one of his daughters has tested positive to the lethal coronavirus pandemic.

The governor made the revelation on his Instagram and twitter account on Friday morning.

He said: “Earlier today, Edith and I received the news that one of our daughters has tested positive for #COVID19. Hence, in-line with the laid out procedures, we are both going into isolation for the next 14-days. We will continue to keep you all updated.”

The number of confirmed cases has been increasing in Delta state. As at yesterday, Thursday June 25, 2020, the number of cases grew to 715 with additional 106 cases to the previous number.

In the midst of this, many people in Delta state and indeed, Nigeria have continued to express unbelief to the existence of the virus.

Nigeria now has a total of 22,614 cases to combat with in the country. The advice is for Nigerians to adhere to the recommended health protocols but they have refused to do so.
