Nigeria’s former minister of health dies in US at 80

A group known as Nigeria Indigenous Nationality Alliance For Self Determination (NINAS) has called for total eradication of 1999  Nigerian constitution while describing it as a bane to development in Nigeria.

One of the coordinators, Dr. Mrs. Augusta Anosike, said that the 1999 constitution which was adopted from the 1979 constitution must go down for all parts of the regions in Nigeria to enjoy their resources.

According to Dr. Mrs. Anosike, the Nigeria constitution created opportunity for some states to generate resources for other states that are not generating any to enjoy.

The United States of America based activist cited an example with Lagos state which she said generates billions of naira through the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) saying that 70% of the resources goes to Kano state which is not generating any.

She added that the constitution also gave room for children in the Northern part of the country to gain admission to study the courses of their choice when they have low marks while other children in other regions struggle to get admission to the universities even with their high marks.

She posited that the constitution has made it impossible to generate electricity in Nigeria even with the mineral resources such as coal and others in Nigeria while USA and other countries generate electricity on their own.

The NINAS coordinator, however, said the 1999 constitution was practically made with bias mind to favour the Northerners.

She noted that it is very easy to have Oduduwa and Biafra nations as the twelve Northern states have moved on with their Sharia.

According to her, the middle belt, Yorubas and Igbos can form an alliance to be on their own and the Fulani Caliphate cannot stop them since they have moved on with their Sharia.

She said that the Oduduwa and Biafra can be created since they have the support of the United Nations (UN) since year 2007 with the help of Prof. Wole Soyinka and the influence of Mr. Kofi Anan who was the Secretary then.

She said that NINAS has in 2020 expressed grievances openly in the Nation, saying that they were not interested in becoming one again.

According to her, the group presented their demands to the presidency and the state governors as well but are still waiting for their response.

She said that the group has done a referendum with the supervision of the UN, adding that very soon, the Biafra and Oduduwa nations will emerge.

She said that people have been sensitized not to worry as the ECOWAS Visa will give everyone mobility to travel to any part of the country without restrictions when the states emerged.

She regretted that the 1999 constitution has caused the non Northerners more harm.

Dr. Mrs. Anosike regretted that upon the huge asphalts and bitumen in Ondo State, the state still has very bad roads.

According to her, Ajaokuta steel is wasting when it can be used to construct cars and airoplanes adding that the coals in Enugu is enough to generate uninterrupted electricity in Nigeria.

NINAS urged the Western and Southern Governors not to entertain fear as the decision was for them to rightfully grab what belongs to them.

She said that if this is achieved, those people in developed countries will come back home because there will be no untold hardship again.

Also, Mr. Seun Arbibola, an Activist, expressed gladness that with the UN’ s support, the Oduduwa Nation and Biafra Nation will soon emerge without causing any war.
