The gubernatorial polls result of Saturday in Bauchi State has been rejected by the guber candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) retired Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar.
Abubakar made this known during this a news conference on Monday night in Bauchi.
INEC had on Monday declared Sen. Bala Mohammed of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the elections.
The incumbent governor polled 525,280 votes to defeat his closest contender, APC’s Abubakar, who garnered 432,272 votes.
Abubakar alleged that the election was marred with indecency and rigging.
He said based on what he knows, he is the clear winner of the election.
He said, “Our preliminary interrogation of INEC e–platforms produced evidence of unprecedented manipulation of the results in total disregard of extant electoral laws and rules.
“How else can someone explain the results from Toro, Warji, Zaki, Alkaleri and Bauchi Local Government Areas, where violence led to cancellation of results among others”.
He added that the party would consult stakeholders and come up with a position on the election result.
Abubakar, therefore, thanked the people of the state for their support and urged them to remain calm.
