An Onitsha based medical laboratory scientist, Mrs. Mirabel Ikeagwu has bemoaned the increase of blood pressure of many people since the problem of insecurity began.
Mrs. Ikeagwu told Emerald News that the situation of the country especially the recent threats of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to resort to another civil war if the federal government turned down their quest of emergency of Biafran Republic has caused a lot of frustrations and depressions in the lives of Nigerian citizens.
She noted that her laboratory has recently been experiencing influx of patients most of who suffer from unimaginable high blood pressure.
According to her, because of the current chaos in Nigeria, many suffer frustrations, depressions, confusions, terror, stresses and the likes.
Mrs. Ikeagwu advised Nigerians to pray and trust God to see the nation through this trauma.
She added that tension and depression increase the risk of high blood pressure which consequently results to heart failure or heart attack.
According to her, these were the reason why there are rampant sudden deaths in the country.
The lab scientist advised people to avoid being easily provoked to anger by anybody whether their spouses, parents, children, friends or enemies to avoid the prevalent high blood pressure.
She advised people not to engage in thinking of anything but to enthrust their burdens to God even in hunger, disappointments and insecurity.
The lab scientist also urged every adult who is over forty years to often check their blood pressure and as well take medications.
She also admonished them to do exercises and avoid regular consumption of cholesterol foods.
