INEC Opens 2026 Recruitment Portal – Apply Now for Grade Levels 07–12

The Independent National Electoral Commission opens portal for 7-day application window to fill critical roles in electoral administration

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially launched its 2026 recruitment exercise, inviting qualified Nigerian graduates to apply for various entry-level positions across Grade Levels 07, 08, 09, 10, and 12.

According to a notice on the commission’s website, the application portal opened on Monday, July 20, 2026, and will remain accessible until Monday, July 27, 2026 — giving interested candidates just one week to submit their applications.

This initiative is designed to enhance the commission’s ability to effectively discharge its constitutional mandate ahead of future electoral cycles

Available Positions by Cadre

Professional Cadre (Grade Levels 09, 10 & 12)

INEC is seeking professionals in the following fields:

· Accountant
· Clinical Officer
· Lawyer
· ICT Officer
· Engineer
· Quantity Surveyor

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant field (Master’s degree advantageous where applicable)
· Professional certifications: NBA, COREN, NSE, NIQS, ICAN, ANAN, or CPN as applicable
· Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience
· NYSC discharge or exemption certificate
· Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and ICT skills

Administrative Officer II (Registration Area Officer) – Grade Level 08

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree, HND, or equivalent in Social Sciences, Humanities, or Sciences
· NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion certificate
· Knowledge of data management and record keeping
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ICT tools

Executive Officer (Registration Officer) – Grade Level 07

Requirements:

· National Certificate in Education (NCE) or equivalent
· Computer operations and data handling skills
· Strong communication and organisational abilities

General Eligibility Criteria

All applicants must:

. Present a valid certificate of state of origin signed by the LGA Chairman or Secretary
. Be certified physically and mentally fit by a government medical officer
.  Not be above 35 years of age at the time of application
. Have no criminal record and be of good character
.  Be willing to serve in any part of Nigeria
. Demonstrate integrity, discipline, and commitment to public service

Step 1: Visit the INEC recruitment portal at

Step 2: Create an applicant account using your:

· Personal details
· Email address
· National Identification Number (NIN)

Step 3: Verify your email address

Step 4: Sign in and select your preferred cadre and vacancy (Note: Once selected, this cannot be changed)

Step 5: Upload all required documents, including:

· Passport photograph
· Birth certificate or declaration of age
· O’Level result
· Degree/HND/ND/NCE certificate
· Local government identification certificate
· NYSC certificate (where applicable)

Step 6: Review your application and submit online

. The application is entirely free of charge — INEC does not charge any fees

. False information or forged documents will lead to disqualification and possible prosecution

.  Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next stage of the recruitment process
