For his dedication to community and social development, the National Union of Isoko Students Worldwide has bestowed what it called service excellent award on the chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. (Elder) Prince Godwin Ogorugba.
Presenting the award to the council chairman in his office in Ozoro, on Monday, the president general of the National Union Isoko students (NUIS) Worldwide, Miss Goodnesses Okudo, described the Ogorugba’s administration as the best thing that has ever happened to the people of Isoko North adding that the award was merited.
The Isoko students group noted that Ogorugba, no doubt has consistently demonstrated his commitment to sustainability, development, and growth as such his efforts have not gone unnoticed.
Responding, the chairman of Isoko North council, Godwin Ogorugba, thanked and commended the the president general of the National Union Isoko students (NUIS) Worldwide and the entire union for finding him worthy of the award and promised to never to betray the confidence reposed in him by the people.
Ogorugba had previously been bestowed with several awards by different groups for his contributions to community development and service to humanity and among others.
One of such groups include the Isoko Royal Lions Club, Isoko Development Union (IDU) for his selfless service and commitment to the Isoko people.
Under his leadership, the local government has seen improvements in service delivery and infrastructural development, with a focus on efficiency and productivity in consolidating the MORE Agenda of Delta state governor, Sheriff Oborevwori.
The Chairman has also taken steps to enhance revenue generation, lifting the ban on revenue collections to improve local infrastructure and public amenities.
