A former governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike, has dared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to take action against him, declaring that nobody in the party can come after him.
Speaking on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’ program on Friday night, Wike dismissed concerns that he would face disciplinary action from the PDP.
When asked whether he is worried that the PDP is coming after him haven said he will face disciplinary committee, Wike responded, saying, “No PDP is coming after me, who is the one that will come after me? Who will face disciplinary committee?”
Wike’s declaration comes after reports emerged last week that the PDP had summoned him to appear before the Tom Ikimi-led disciplinary committee over alleged anti-party activities.
The PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Abdullahi, had announced on Channels Television’s ‘Sunrise Daily’ program that Wike’s recent statement about “putting fire in their states” regarding PDP governors was wrong and unacceptable.
