Four weeks after it adjourned for judgement, the Presidential Election Tribunal has finally fixed a date to make public its judgment.

According to The News Guru, a competent source disclosed on Sunday, that the five-member tribunal which sat at the Court of Appeal complex in Abuja from May 8 to August 1, has agreed on September 16 as the judgment date.

Incidentally, that date is the deadline for the tribunal to deliver its judgment and the Independent national Electoral Commission (INEC)

Also, DAILY POST reports that  a famous Nigerian entertainer, Charles Oputa, known by his stage name, Charly Boy claims the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has fixed September 16 for judgement on the petitions challenging the victory of President Bola Tinubu.

While the online portal  could not authoritatively confirm the date, the tribunal, according to the constitution, has up till Sept 16, 2023 ( which is maximum 180 days of filing of petitions) to deliver judgement on the petitions.

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the February 25 election and his Labour Party, LP, counterpart, Peter Obi had filed petitions asking the Tribunal to sack Tinubu over several allegations.

Charly Boy in a post on his official X handle, urged supporters of Obi known as Obidients to get ready for the judgement.

The post reads, “OBIDIENTS ARE U Ready? Tribunal (PEPT) has announced that the judgment date for the cases involving Peter Obi and the Labour Party against Bola Tinubu, INEC, Shettima, and APC, as well as the PDP’s case of Atiku against APC, INEC, and Tinubu, is scheduled for September 16, 2023.”
