Delta state Police, Agbarho division on Monday 10 October rescued a kidnapped victim and recovered his Highlander SUV.
The DPO, Agbarho division, CSP Samuel Ogwa had received a distress call which offered him a tip-off about the kidnappers.
On receiving the information, the DPO swiftly mobilized and led operatives who positioned strategically on the road, waiting for the kidnappers to fall into their ambush.
According to CSP Bright Edafe, Delta State Police public relations officer, as the police team was monitoring movement of vehicles, a Highlander as described by the distress caller was sighted.
In a bid to escape, the driver of the Highlander immediately made a U-turn on sighting the police. The suspected kidnappers were given a hot chase by the Police team.
On noticing the relentless determination of the team, the suspects abandoned the vehicle and escaped into a nearby bush.
The victim was rescued unhurt and has been reunited with his family. ” Efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects” Bright Edafe said.
