The leadership of Concerned Oshimili South Youth (COSY) in Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State, has lauded the chairman of the local government, Comrade Uche Osadebe, for ensuring peace and youth empowerment since the inception of his administration.
Consequently, COSY said they were endorsing Comrade Osadebe for a second term in office for a sustainable development and peace in the area.
The group also commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his ensuring good things and development in Oshimili South LGA and the leadership of PDP for recognizing genuine service.
The coordinator of the group, Comrade Chukwuma Ajufoh, who made the commendations in a chat with journalists in Asaba, said the group had confidence that Osadebe will sustain the prevailing peace, if returned as chariman.
According to him, “Comrade Osadebe has brought peace in Asaba, in particular, and the local government area, in general because since he assumed duty as chairman, the youths have remained peaceful and committed to the various empowerments. Some of them can now feed, marry, do business and contribute to their various families”.
He also recalled the contributions of the local government chairman during the #EndSARS protests, stressing that government property were spared as Comrade Osadebe dissuaded the protesting youths from embarking on destruction of government property.
Comrade Ajufoh pointed out that past administrations in the local government area did little or nothing for the youths, maintaining that the administration of Comrade Osadebe had boosted youths’ empowerment and sent the youths out of the streets.
“The peace we are enjoying in Asaba and environs is because the chairman empowered the youths. Some of them are enlisted into revenue agents and they are doing well; feeding their families. Otherwise, crime could have been on the increase by now”, he posited.
The coordinator said that all the youths in the local government area were in support of Comrade Osadebe for a second tenure so that the area will continue to enjoy peace, empowerment and development, even as he averred that Comrade Osadebe had complemented the development projects put in place by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, in the area.
“Comrade Osadebe is a man of peace and integrity. He has the interests of the youths at heart and we have enjoyed various empowerment and skills acquisitions since he assumed office”, he said
While calling on the leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and youths  in the area to support Comrade Osadebe for a second term, he assured that the COSY will continue to mobilize the youths to ensure the victory of PDP in all elections.
