The Head of the Association of Urhobo Mayoral Family Crown (AUMFC) and former Niger Delta agitator leader, His Excellency Eshanekpe Israel, popularly known as Akpodoro, has congratulated the newly crowned Olubadan of Ibadan, His Royal Majesty Rasidi Ladoja, on his ascension to the throne of his forefathers.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Mayor Akpodoro described the new Olubadan as an “amiable personality” whose rise to the revered throne could only have been made possible by the grace of God.
He praised the monarch’s resilience through past political challenges and commended him for maintaining integrity throughout his life.
Extending his felicitations to the people of Ibadan, the Mayor said they had been blessed with a king comparable to the biblical David, assuring that under HRM Ladoja’s reign, the city would experience significant growth and development.
He urged the people to rally behind their monarch, stressing that collective support is vital for the success of his leadership.
Akpodoro also congratulated members of the Urhobo community residing in Ibadan, encouraging them to live peacefully with their hosts.
He pledged to work towards strengthening cordial relations between the Urhobo nation and the Olubadan’s palace, noting that Urhobo people are globally known for being industrious, law-abiding, and peace-loving.
Drawing parallels with biblical figures, the Mayor likened the new Olubadan to King David for his faith, courage, and leadership, and to King Solomon for his wisdom and sound judgment.
He expressed confidence that HRM Ladoja embodies the humility and devotion needed to guide his people successfully.
Mayor Akpodoro further called on the Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration of Oyo State, under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), to fully support the monarch in driving development for Ibadan and its people.
He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for attending the coronation ceremony despite his busy schedule, describing the president’s presence as a demonstration of his love for Nigeria’s culture and traditions.
