Ndiomu riding roughshod on phase 2 ex-agitators’ request for accountability, transparency – Akpodoro says

The Mayor of Urhoboland and notable ex-militant leader, Eshanekpe Israel a.k.a Akpodoro, has said the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, Major General Barry Ndiomu, is riding roughshod on the phase 2 presidential amnesty leaders.

The Mayor stated this in reaction to what he described as a wishy washy defence in a publication by those he sees as his renegades who hold forth for him in situations like this.

He said the president’s aide should come out unscathed in his acclaimed training of members of phase 2 in piloting insisting that the Amnesty boss be sacked by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu owing to what he described as his opaque management style, high handedness, cluelessness, recklessness and gross ineptitude.

The Gbaregolor, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State-born Mayor said no amount of subterfuge is enough to blackmail him into submission as he called on the president not to waste time in ensuring that Ndiomu is relieved of his duty while a new administrator from Urhoboland is appointed to man the amnesty programme.

Akpodoro wondered why Ndiomu is agitated by the call to render his stewardship to Nigerians whereas he holds a public office that makes him accountable to the people he claims to serve.

He stressed further the need for accountability and not sending his surrogates to publish what he described as tissue of lies.

He noted that the “so called group, National Leadership of Phase 2 Ex-Agitators does not exist but hurriedly put together by Ndiomu as his attack dogs to wage war of attrition against an innocuous call for accountability adding that Mr. Salvation is unknown entity to Phase 2 Ex-Agitators.

He queried the sentiments of “rascality and attempt to undermine the beneficiaries by the administrator.

“He should tell us the cost of training the number of pilots he claimed to have trained. How much goes into the payment of stipends and scholarship for the beneficiaries of the programme?

“Beneficiaries seek to know the budget of the programme and how is expended to carry out the objectives of the amnesty programme. In the absence of these, Ndiomu should be sacked,” Akpodoro said.

The Mayor added that, the appointing authority should cause Mr. Ndiomu to come with details of expenditure of his office and it should commensurate with what the federal government has doled out.

He noted: “We have evidence based details and at the right time we shall make it public.” The Mayor enthused.

Additionally, Akpodoro said no amount of campaign of calumny will stop phase 2 leaders from demanding to know what the amnesty boss is using the programme’s funds for.

“The programme is not meant for satisfying the voracious appetite of a handful of persons who turn around to roll their arsenals to defend the indefensible.”

The National Security Adviser to the President, NSA, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu should impress it on Ndiomu to hasten up in doing the needful and if he does not resign, he should be booted out immediately.
