NIS, Operation Hadin Kai JTF North East collaborates on Operational Synergy in the North East.

The Nigerian Immigration Service and the Joint Military Task Force deployed to the North East and known as Operation Hadin Kai have met to collaborate on Operational Synergy of ensuring security of the region and the Nation’s borders.

The Assistant Comptroller General Incharge Zone C Headquarters Nigeria Immigration Service ACG James Sunday, who visited the Theatre Commander Operation Hadin Kai at the Headquarters Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai, Maiduguri Headed by the Theatre Commander Major General W Shaibu, discussed issues bothering on complimentary supporting roles by the NIS Component drafted to the Joint Task Force in Maiduguri.

The High Level meeting,which had in attendance the Comptroller Nigeria Immigration Service Borno State Command CIS Abba Salihu, his supporting staff on the entourage of the Zonal Coordinator Zone C,NIS and the Theatre Commander Maj Gen W Shaibu and other top brass of the Military at the theatre Command and other Components from other services serving with the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai in attendance, deliberated more on security and operational involvement of personnel posted to the North East region.

ACG James Sunday, who is charge of the Zonal Coordinator Zone C, (North East), which comprises of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Yobe and Plateau States, after visiting Yobe State to assess the Operations of the Command and effect the directive on re-opening of the Nigerian Border with Niger Republic, returned to Maiduguri to continue his two day working visit to Borno and Yobe States.

According to ACG James Sunday, “the Nigeria Immigration Service in Borno State were equally directed to re-open the border to allow human movement into Nigeria and out, with high level professionalism noting that the borders were closed for sometimes, they must be mindful of elements who may want to test our resolve and want to infiltrate.”

“The Officers were cautioned to work Professionally and Mitigate any potential threat and check dutifully the documents presented for entry and exit ,and to do the needful by either admitting those with valid documents and refusing entry those that are irregular without valid documents”

“The Nigeria Immigration Service has about 230 Officers and Men deployed to the Joint Task Force, our cordial and complimentary working relationship as supporting component is apt, the NIS Officers drafted are well trained and professionally inclined to do their bid with respect to Immigration Clearance and ancillary operational tasks at locations they were posted to by the theatre Commander”

“So far, the Officers were rated excellent and good to go by Maj Gen W Shaibu during the interactive meeting and the service NIS applauded among others as doing very well in collaboration, support and friendly working relationship with others”.

” I personally took this opportunity to drive from Maiduguri to Damaturu by road to assess the terrain and I can assure Nigerians that relative peace, safety and security has returned to the North East, economic and local activities have returned to the states of Borno and Yobe, vehicles are traveling safely along the corridor with economic products to other parts of the country,”

“I appreciate all the operatives along the corridor led by the Army with their men on 24/7 duty , others around the lake Chad and along the border lines,it is a great effort, zest and resilience, said the Zonal Coordinator Zone C ,ACG James Sunday on behalf of the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service,Kemi Nana.

” I wish to encourage the Officers and Men of the NIS Component and appreciate the Theatre Commander for absorption of the NIS Component into Operation Hadin Kai.”

He also stated that the Borno State Government has decided to host a Strategic Security Summit in Maiduguri,in line with the proposed North East Border Security Summit muted by the Nigeria Immigration Service to fashion workable measures to ensure security and safety for the region at a date to be announced.

He confirmed that this was disclosed by the Deputy Governor of Borno State His Excellency Umar Usman Kadafur during the visit of the Zonal Coordinator Zone C,Nigeria Immigration Service to Government House, in Maiduguri.
